Adapx introduced a new software product called Mapx, an integrated software solution that enables digital pen and paper-based data collection with ESRI ArcGIS mapping software.
As an ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 extension, Mapx will provide an interface to create, import, edit, and share paper-based GIS data and it integrates with ArcGIS applications to provide an end-to-end data collection process that results in real-time digital information. Mapx will enable the user with flexibility of using paper maps in data collection process.
While printing maps with Mapx-enabled version of ArcGIS application a pattern of dots embedded in the printed document enables geo-registered maps to be used with Penx, Adapx field-ready digital pens supporting Anoto functionality with which the user is able to mark and annotate maps, and form associated map, containing geodatabase features and attributes, and collect or report on these features and attributes in real time. Mapx extension supports ESRI platforms such as ArcGIS 9.2, ArcView, ArcEditor, ArcInfo and is compatible with geodatabase feature classes, such as personal and enterprise ArcSDE.
