Demand for GIS services drives record recruitment drive at Dotted Eyes

UK based Dotted Eyes is celebrating after taking on a record number of new staff.

Owen Powell has joined the Commercial Team as an Account Manager, with responsibility for the Transport vertical. His previous experience includes a two year stint at MapMechanics selling GPS and Vehicle Routing and Scheduling [VRS] followed by a VRS sales and consultancy role for DPS International.

Software Engineer Jon Hawkesworth has traded Capgemini for Dotted Eyes where he will be working in the Development team, delivering projects built on ResponseMX web mapping technology.

In response to increased demand for corporate wide GIS implementation, Chris Allison has joined the company as Project Consultant. His previous project management roles at Worcestershire County Council and Terraquest, combined with his Human Geography degree, made him the ideal candidate for this role. He will be liaising with clients, such as Ashfield District Council, and internal staff to co-ordinate the delivery of various corporate GIS components, including loading tools, dataset provision, web mapping applications and training/consultancy.

The Company’s youngest recruit, Andrew Brittan, joined immediately after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a BSc in Geography. As a Graduate Data Trainee, Andrew is working on the Meridian2 Project, carrying out the annual update of Ordance Survey’s Meridian2 dataset. Previous incumbents of the role have all moved into full time placements within Dotted Eyes, so we look forward to Andrew being with us for a long time to come.

Dotted Eyes now looks forward to completing the full redesign of www.dottedeyes.com, which will be formally launched at AGI2007. The new site will feature more product and services information, including over 50 pages devoted to mapping datasets alone!
