Yahoo Korea has launched its satellite and road map search service in Korea. While other sites have a map search in the Korean language, this is the first global map. It also doesn't require downloading of a map program, like Google Earth's Korean version. The satellite and street maps can be simply viewed at Yahoo Korea's website.
The new Korean-language map service has 2.2 million names of cities, mountains, streets, buildings and tourist spots around the world. Searchers have an option to look at the road map, satellite image or a combination of the two.
The map service was created with the participation of SK Energy, road navigation data provider in Korea, and i-cubed, a U.S. satellite image service provider. Currently, only Naver and Daum portals offer a map search service in Korean.
