Munsys, Inc. announced the release of Munsys 10. This product release delivers new functionality, enhanced usability and includes strategic additions to the platform and data models. The Munsys solutions for utilities and local government include a central database with pre-defined Oracle Spatial data models and integrated applications for the management of water, sewer, drainage, parcels, roads and electricity infrastructure. Autodesk design products are utilized for spatial data creation and editing.
“Many new features have been included based on extensive customer feedback, at the same time the product design has been updated to allow future Munsys applications to be even more database driven and dynamically configurable.” said Chris Tolken, president and founder of Munsys. “Munsys 10.0 is the first release of the new generation of Munsys applications that has been two years in the making.”.
The first release is primarily aimed at User Interface improvements based on .NET technology, while also offering a number of new features such as the new Query Palette and Management Console. Munsys 10 installation has also been simplified allowing system administrators to grant access to applications based on Oracle privileges.
The new Munsys Management Console replaces the previous Munsys Administrator application and related tools. The Management Console supports a new tree interface allowing administrators to easily manage the database and related Munsys applications from a single user interface.
The Munsys Query Palette is also new and a major improvement over the previous Define Query option. With this new query interface users can easily execute groups of spatial queries, define their own queries, and additionally control the query order of objects.
