Intergraph buys Austrian GIS firm

11 April 2007: Intergraph today announced the acquisition of GISquadrant, a provider of geospatial software and services based in Austria, for an undisclosed sum.

Vienna-headquartered GISquadrant focused on the local government and utility sectors and has around 200 customers dotted around Austria, Germany, Croatia and Hungary. The company's software helped local governments and utility customers to more effectively create, manage and utilize their geospatial data.

Intergraph said the acquisition will both enhance its SIM product line and strengthen its presence in Europe. Intergraph said it will continue to support GISquadrant's Respublica software as a standalone product and also integrate parts into its own geospatial platform.
