Intergraph CTO Mark Doherty and senior government IT leaders from across Asia, Europe, Australia and Canada are gathering next week in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, for the FutureGov Forum to discuss challenges and solutions in the government sector. City Pursues Open Data, Wider Use of Geospatial Solutions

The City of Edmonton, Canada, has selected Intergraph to provide on-going access to the latest geospatial software and services through a multi-year agreement. Intergraph’s North American Site License gives Edmonton a cost-effective means of expanding the city’s enterprise geographic information system (GIS).

Through Intergraph’s GeoMedia Smart Client, Geospatial SDI and other software, Edmonton can grow its use of enterprise data management, data visualization, 3D analyses, cloud computing and mobile technologies.

London Hydro Integrates Field and Office Using InService Solution

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., May 3, 2012 – London Hydro, London, Ontario’s sole electrical provider servicing approximately 410 square kilometers of territory, recently selected Intergraph®’s InService outage management system (OMS) and mobile workforce management solutions to consolidate and streamline administration of its electrical distribution control room. These solutions will fully integrate with Intergraph’s G/Technology and GeoMedia® products, which were previously implemented at London Hydro in 2006, eliminating any need for middleware or third-party products. Intergraph’s InService will supply London Hydro with an all-encompassing system of information between the field and the back office.

Intergraph’s InService solution, which includes a robust OMS with automated metering infrastructure (AMI), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) interfaces, will allow London Hydro to utilize an integrated digital operating model. This model will serve as a single source for outage management, SCADA and mobile workforce management, as well as reduce restoration times, give accurate and timely reporting and analysis and generate comprehensive audit statistics.

Intergraph’s mobile workforce management solution, along with regionally developed outage web reporting and call-taker applications, will enable London Hydro to deliver timely responses to its trouble calls and show planned and current outages overlaid on Google Maps. In addition, Intergraph’s control room logger will provide the necessary capture/reporting and auditing of London Hydro’s work protection requirements.

2009 Carl Pulfrich Awardees

Intergraph awarded Drs. Devrim Akca and Michael Cramer the Carl Pulfrich Award, which recognises significant design and manufacturing contributions to the photogrammetry, remote sensing and earth imaging industries.

The Intergraph award is dedicated in memory of Dr. Carl Pulfrich, a key member of the scientific team at Carl Zeiss, who from 1890 to 1927 oversaw the design of the company's first stereo photogrammetric and surveying instruments.

Carl Pulfrich Award Council considered nominees on the basis of experience, activities in photogrammetry and remote sensing and contributions to the advancement of all aspects of the earth imaging fields. Applied work involving hardware systems, software solutions or innovative service activities were also considered by the award council. During Photogrammetric Week, Drs. Akca and Cramer were presented with 2009 Carl Pulfrich Award plaques and a monetary prize of $3,750 USD each.

Dr. Akca is a member of several industry associations including ISPRS and ASPRS, and is co-founder of a geospatial software company in Zurich.

Dr. Cramer is a leading researcher and senior lecturer with tenure at the Institute for Photogrammetry at Stuttgart University in Germany.

Spatial Data Infrastructure for Veneto, Italy

The region of Veneto, Italy will use Intergraph technology to create a centralized spatial data infrastructure (SDI) database to improve access to spatial data across the region and to conform to standards such as INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe).

The project will consolidate and standardise multiple databases into one SDI geographic database, harmonising and securing geospatial data exchange between Venetian government entities, businesses and the public for improved collaboration and productivity and ease of maintenance and administration.

Intergraph and its partners in this project will also enable users to easily catalogue and search for stored information, and will support the use of Web services for the simple publishing, dissemination and display of spatial data.

France's Aero Photo Europe Investigation Acquires Intergraph Digital Mapping Camera

Aéro Photo Europe Investigation (A.P.E.I.), the largest and oldest private aerial survey company in France, has acquired a complete Intergraph Z/I Imaging Digital Mapping Camera (DMC) airborne and ground processing system. This implementation marks the first DMC system to be used in France.

Due to an increasing demand among its customer base for digital images, A.P.E.I. chose the DMC to help the company transition from analog to digital aerial photogrammetry. “We have worked with other large-format cameras on the market, but the DMC comes out on top in terms of innovation, accuracy, reliability and ease of operation,” said Bruno Callabat, technical manager at A.P.E.I.

Upon purchasing the camera, A.P.E.I. had it up and running in just one week and captured 50,000 images with ground resolutions ranging from five to fifty centimeters during its first six months in operation. 11 April 2007: Intergraph today announced the acquisition of GISquadrant, a provider of geospatial software and services based in Austria, for an undisclosed sum.

Vienna-headquartered GISquadrant focused on the local government and utility sectors and has around 200 customers dotted around Austria, Germany, Croatia and Hungary.
