USDA FSA has recently supported a $3.2M project, lead by Ducks Unlimited and the USGS, to examine the impact of wetland restoration under the Conservation Reserve Program on soil carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas exchange. A diverse, multi-institutional team will conduct field work in midwest USA wetlands, along with an intensive modeling effort, spanning a 5 year period in an effort to quantify the climate-mitigating potential of wetland restoration.
We hereby announce our intention to hire several research positions at multiple levels and across several institutions to join our interdisciplinary research team. Please note these are informal announcements that are superseded by and subject to the hiring announcements and policies of the respective institutions. Graduate students

Research Technicians
- A three-year term research technician position at the Baruch Institute of Coastal Ecology & Forest Science in Georgetown, South Carolina in the area of measuring soil and plant greenhouse gas fluxes. Contact Dr. Tom O’Halloran - tohallo@clemson.edu
- Four seasonal, student-service contractor, technician positions with the U.S. Geological Survey based out of Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center in Jamestown, ND to collect wetland soil, vegetation and greenhouse gas flux data during summers 2022-2024. - A seasonal technician (4 months starting in late Spring 2022) at the University of Texas at Austin Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, TX is needed to collect wetland soil, vegetation and geospatial data in the High Plains region of Texas.
