Map Asia 2010: 2nd Call for Papers

The theme of the Map Asia 2010 conference is “Connecting Government and Citizen through Ubiquitous GIS”, with the theme the conference would seek appropriate methods in improving service delivery systems across all agencies. The conference will gather ideas and strategies from both the public and private sectors on improved and new ways to grow towards a connected government.

Map Asia provides a platform for the Asian Geo-Informatics community to realise, recognise, and reveal the stages of dissemination of Geospatial Information. It is an international initiative aimed to allow the convergence, sharing and use of Geospatial Technologies. Founded in the year 2002, Map Asia is the largest Annual International Conference and Exhibition on Geospatial Information, Technology and Applications in the region and offers a unique branding, networking and marketing opportunity to the local and international Geospatial Industry.

Submit an abstract of an intended full paper for the “Technical Sessions” of the conference. The abstract submitted should not exceed 250 words. The submitted abstract should be an original draft, one which has not been published before. Upon evaluation of abstracts, selected authors will be invited to send in their full papers.

Map Asia 2009: GIS Conference

Map Asia 2009, is an initiative aimed to enable convergence, sharing and use of Geospatial technologies and offers a unique branding, networking and marketing opportunities. With the aim to disseminate geospatial knowledge by means of sharing and exchanging ideas and insights pertaining to geospatial domain, we would like to invite you to participate actively in this event and submit theme centric papers focusing on various aspects of Geospatial technologies and applications for presentation.

Map Asia 2009: GIS conference

GIS Development and Singapore Land Authority (SLA) have teamed up to organize Map Asia 2009, the largest geospatial conference. The conference and exhibition will be held from 18 – 20 August, 2009 at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. This will probably be the biggest gathering in Asia of the international geospatial community with an expected attendance comprising of geospatial professionals and practitioners across the globe.

This is the 1st time that Singapore is hosting the Map Asia conference. The organisers are delighted that the Conference is supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) under the “Business Events in Singapore” (BEIS) incentive scheme.

The theme of the conference is “Connecting Geospatial Communities- Creating New Dimensions.” This theme was chosen to highlight the new dimensions that geospatial tools like Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have created, or can create, for businesses and Government in their strategic planning and business operations.

The conference agenda will comprise topical issues such as spatial economics, e-city and location-based services. Vincent Hoong, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Land Authority said: “SLA is delighted that Singapore has been chosen to host this year’s edition of the Map Asia Conference.

Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging and IONIC announce their silver sponsorships at Map Asia, August 14-16, 2007 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
